
Key Speaker: Dr. Tawfik Hamid, Muslim Reformer
Dr. Tawfik Hamid, a former member of a terror organization and current Islamic
thinker and reformer.
Dr. Tawfik Hamid, is an Islamic thinker and reformer, and one
time Islamic extremist from Egypt. He was a member of a terrorist
Islamic organization JI with Dr. Aiman Al-Zawaherri who became
later on the second in command of Al-Queda.
Some twenty-five years ago, he recognized the threat of Radical
Islam and the need for a reformation based upon modern peaceful
interpretations of classical Islamic core texts. Dr. Hamid provided
a fresh and theologically valid interpretation for the Quran
to counterbalance the radical teaching.
As the Daily Express (UK) mentioned "Dr. Hamid has predicted
the attacks on the twin towers, Madrid and London". After
September 11, Dr. Hamid boldly decided to speak out through western
broadcast and print media. He has appeared on shows spanning
the spectrum from CNN to Fox News, and his articles and op-ed
pieces have appeared in publications such as the Wall Street
Journal, the New York Daily News, and the Jerusalem Post.
Dr. Hamid's exceptional knowledge of the jihadi mindset has
led him to be a guest speaker at many reputable private and governmental
fora – both within the U.S. and internationally. He lives
now in Washington DC.
Dr. Hamid is also the author of Inside Jihad, Understanding
and Confronting Radical Islam. Dr. Hamid mission is to end Radical
Islam.
Recently Dr. Hamid was invited as guest speaker to Adelson Institute
for Strategic Studies in Israel where he contributed to an International
Conference about counterinsurgency and counter terrorism.
Michael W. Cutler:
1971 with a B.A. in Communications Arts and Sciences. Mr. Cutler began working
for the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in October 1971 when
he entered on duty as an Immigration Inspector assigned to John F. Kennedy
International Airport. From 1973 until 1974 He was assigned as an examiner
to the unit which was responsible for adjudicating petitions filed by United
States Citizens and Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident Aliens (LPRs) on
behalf of their alien spouses to accord them LPR status. His goal in this
assignment was to attempt to uncover fraud marriages and fraud marriage rings.
In August 1975 he became a Criminal Investigator (Special Agent)
for the INS in NYC. He rotated through virtually every squad
in the Investigations Branch. AS a special agent he conducted
investigations and arrests of individuals involved in a wide
variety of immigration-related violations of law including a
number of international terrorists.
Mr. Cutler has testified as an "Expert witness" at
more than a dozen Congressional hearings. on issues relating
to the enforcement of immigration laws. Mr. Cutler also furnished
testimony to the Presidential Commission on the Terrorist Attacks
of September 11.
Presenter: Aaron Richman
Aaron Richman is the Co Director for the Institute of Terrorism
Research and Response in Philadelphia and Israel, where he is
responsible for the global Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center’s
intelligence and research projects.
He specializes in emergency planning and training for incidents
of weapons of mass destruction and suicide bombings. Richman
has conducted various research projects dealing with best practices
in terror response and command considerations for such incidents.
Mr. Richman comes from a career in military and law enforcement in the Middle
East. After serving military tours in Israel, he was recruited to the Central
Command of the Israel National Police where he worked in various capacities
at a command level to include, narcotics, counter terrorism and operations.
Currently, Richman is managing a number of international projects
in the field of counterterrorism and emergency management to
include programs sponsored by the European Union and NATO. The
two separate research projects address emergency management and
the response to a weapon of mass destruction incident for the
European Union and NATO forces.
Eamon Doherty, Ph.D.
Dr. Eamon Doherty is the Cybercrime Training Lab Director as
well as an assistant professor in the Petrocelli College of Continuing
Studies in Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Dr. Doherty
has a certificate in PDA Forensics as well as a certificate in
Computer Security and Forensic Administration. He has also written
a book with coauthors who are investigators and security practitioners.
The book is titled, “eForensics and Signal Intelligence
for Everyone”. Dr. Doherty has also created three new ½ day
classes for law enforcement officers and security practitioners
and published a variety of those class materials made during
a Department of Justice grant. These classes are “PDA Forensics”, “Cell
Phone Forensics”, and “Introduction Electronic Eavesdropping
Device and Wiretap Detection.”
Dr. Doherty has also created 3 semester long online classes
for the National Guard and the university through a grant to
develop classes for the certificate in Computer Security and
Forensic Administration. The classes MADS 6638 Computer Security
Administration, MADS 6637 Computer Seizure and Examination, MADS
6611 Current Issues in Cybercrime, are available online to both
National Guard personnel as well as FDU. Dr. Doherty is also
a member of the National Military Intelligence Association.
John D. Hunt
John D. Hunt is the Vice President of Advanced Sciences and
Technologies Global Preparedness Solutions Division. He served
over twenty-six years with the New Jersey State Police. His experience
includes serving as Commanding Officer of the Field Operations,
Intelligence, Emergency Management and the Homeland Security
Branch-Special Operations Sections. He was appointed as the New
Jersey Deputy State Director of Emergency Management and was
designated the Commanding Officer of Operation LEAD – Louisiana
Emergency Assistance Deployment, New Jersey’s deployment
of over six-hundred emergency personnel to New Orleans after
Hurricane Katrina. He has international experience as a speaker,
providing presentations in many countries. Domestically, he has
offered security and emergency management briefings and presentations
throughout the United States.
